  • @BurnsErnst Thurman Munson was queer for Fred Stanley, who used to choke his "chicken" quite often

  • Many of the Royals felt much more confident about playing the Yankees in the 1980 ALCS because Munson & Chambliss were gone. Munson, especially in big games, always came through, & Chambliss was a clutch player. Reggie might've been the big name but any true Yankee fan from that time will tell you the 2 guys they wanted at the plate in big spots were Munson & Chambliss. Even though Cerone & Watson contributed a lot to the team, I think the Yanks would've won 2 more WS with Chambliss & Munson.

  • From a leadership perspective and his ability to come through in big games the team without a doubt missed him. I'm not sure how much longer he would've caught cause his legs were shot. The team did win the AL East in 80 and the Pennant in 81 without him but it wasn't the same. They were still a good team but Munson's death precipitated some moves. They had to get a replacement so they traded Chambliss to Toronto for Cerone and they signed Bob Watson to play first.

  • He was only 32. More than likely, Thurmond would have played another 5 to 7 years. Possibly longer, if they had moved him to DH. You could make a valid argument that the Yankees franchise took well over a decade to recover from his death.

  • @RRaquello Amen.

  • I was never a Yankee fan. Not in the least. But Thurman Munson was one of my favorite players. I don't care if he never signed an autograph. Don't ask for autographs. I've been a sports fan since I was 5 years old, which was over 40 years ago and I've never asked for an autograph. It's what a player does on the field that counts and Munson was tough & he was clutch and anyone who is bitching now because their feelings were hurt 35 years ago when they were 8 years old should grow up.

  • god bless you artie lange.

  • My favorite Yankee and he died before I was even born. We miss you Thurman

  • @KutscheetAmsterDam

as you are talking about a 13 inch hammer cock in all your comments I guess you must have only a 3 inch mini cock and an even smaller brain !!!

  • @SellTheFake Thurman Munson threw like a bitch because his arm was sore from jacking off Cliff Johnsons 13 inch hammer cock.
