  • @TheDanceofjoy oh that's why there are loads of wing chun movies including Ip man. Bruce lee personally felt that wing chun was limited in filming because the moves were all compact and close range. Therefore he developed JKD.

  • @CloudsBeyond dude it lasted over 300 yrs...think it was useful. based on the reality of the 3 dimensions as they are affected by time, space and energy.

Specifically using inherit human physics and capitolizing on the known weaknesses of the human frame. Developing methods and techniques that are perfectly effective, regardless of size, strength, or gender. guess you didnt get that in your class...but hey it might not be for everybody though it was made for everybody...

  • @nightfox2282 lol nice...

  • @nightfox2282 jeet kune do(intercepting fist) is the same princple as wc..wing chun is a close combat fighting method where aas jeet kune do simply adds long range. but i agree 8 chain punches to the temple (lol) and so on the chain punch is like a battering ram the first hit or two dont have to know you out,it's the consisting strikes that will cave your chest or any other body part. but wing chun has a lot of trapping and close range skills very useful for anyone...great style!

  • It was Bruce lee himself that said "I don't fear the man who knows 10000 kicks, I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10000." So this makes you right on one count and wrong with another. Bruce Lee would not make this quote if he thought the simplicity of wing chun was a bad point. A MMA artist might know shed loads of moves but the person that has practiced them the most will have more skill. Jack of all trades master of none. the rest is as xxdjcharlierockxx says.

  • @xxdjcharlierockxx well said

  • @CalebMartialArts yep George Dillman never mind barely tapped students and instructors, he can stand several feet away & KO them!Only it is BS just like your Instructors skill, tell your Instructor to get in a MMA contest and prove his skills then watch for excuses!!! 'eh Wing Chun is too deadly I'd kill them...we cannot use our most deadly techniques in there' lol!Your Instructor trains nowhere near as hard as MMA fighters, & rarely spars hard or fights - who do you think is really going to win?

  • @nightfox2282 better still - go in UFC with your BS and try it! What is stopping you? Boztepe made excuses not to fight in UFC & has ducked out of EVERY single challenge made to him (Blumming's students, Bas Rutten, William Cheung Instructors, etc). Bruce Lee moved away from Wing Chun because he saw its limitations, as does anyone with intelligence & knowledge of martial arts - your reason shows your sheer ignorance!

  • @nightfox2282 In the words of Gary Lam "wing chun is not good looking is only good using." No muscle round your kneecaps I think.

  • @CloudsBeyond hmm ok, let me throw 8 chain punches to your temple (side of head), kidney 25, stomach 15 pressure points above you pectoral muscles (chest muscles) or perhaps a go wan jeong (upward palm strike) to your neck. guarantee you'l retreat after the first hit. Bruce lee moved away from it because it is not filled with beauty that could be caught by camera for films. So he developed his own style which is still a base of wing chun not a completely different art.
