  • @alternatehistories You are so right ! I think Patton is himself the cradle of the old Blues , as we know it. It sounds good, but its so hard to duplicate. I think his expre

ssive voice is the key ?

Thanks for the comment and listening !

    Peace Brother !

  • It's amazing how Patton made this song so "full" sounding using such a simple, and minimalist riff on the guitar. People can have Robert Johnson...I'll take Patton over him anyday. Patton's given us everything we need IMHO.

  • @twalling Yes, you are right.

    There are others too !

Please visit my new site for more Delta Blues.

You find the address, on my frontpage here on YT !

Thanks for the comment and listening !

    Peace !

  • @kickingmule... meh... there are others, not from the area... Blind Lemon Jefferson comes to mind.

  • I agree. Charley Patton was/is a legend and perhaps he started it all in the Delta. Ok, there are the 5 as I use to say : Charley Patton , Son House, Big Joe Williams, Skip James, Robert Johnson. And then comes the rest !

Thanks for the comment and listening.

    Peace.

    Urban

  • The plague of the Boll Weevil turns into a haunting song of loss and impending doom, Charlie was a legend!
