@neilcrenshaw i'll try that, thanks

Yes, the higher states of consciousness require energy to maintain. That is why most people don't continue their pursuit into the higher levels. It is much easier to stay in the lower levels.

Concise, helpful summary. Awareness requires mindful effort.

luckily ive noticed im almost always in the 3rd or 4th but it is rare to feel the 5th but i think if people could understand how the higher levels fell they would maybe want to achieve them instead of staying in the lower levels because it takes less effort

@veldshpay420 If you are in attention and awareness (3rd & 4th levels) most of the time you are way ahead of most people. But like you say, it does take more effort to stay in the higher levels. However, the more you practice being in the higher levels the easier it gets.

I've achieved pure awareness before but i fell back down. I never thought so clearly and it felt like I was one with everything. Everything and everyone is part of the same energy, we just experience it subjectively. It's so easy to get caught up in your normal thinking again. I've been trying to get back up there but it's so hard because I have pretty bad anxiety.

@m333mz To break out of the anxiety try doing mindful meditation where you, the witness, simply notice thoughts. The more you practice mindful meditation the better you can become at noticing the thought that creates the anxiety. By noticing thouhts as simply thoughts, and nothing more, you begin to see how they create the emotion. So, when you become anxious, become the witness and the anxiety should cease to exist.

@neilcrenshaw the thing is, it's hard for me to even think a complete though. my mind's all over the place. my shoulder's get so tense from all the anxiety. typing this alone is pretty draining. i tried a medical grade anxiety relief tea but that didn't do much for me. i was thinking of getting xanax prescribed but my mom won't allow it. i'm stuck on what to do-maybe valerian root pills?

@m333mz If you mind is "all over the place," go ahead and simply observe those thoughts, no matter what they are or how long in duration they are. Observe the thoughts and at the same time observe any emotion (anxiety, fear, hate, etc.) that occurs.
