Interesting report this weekend on how truly predatory some of our bank's overdraft fee policies are.

  • Excellent video ComplaintsBoard. Thanks for posting.

  • amazing.. So why are more people not doing this? Someone should advertise this on national TV. 60 minutes should do an expose, in fact this procedure should be visible and heard everywhere, Bulletin boards should state, take your bank to small claims court, I did! Banks are blood-sucking vampires(sorry vampires) who will stop at nothing, every last drop until you are dead. Star a movement and seek financial revenge.

  • ebay is crap and nothing good comes unless you sell items no more than £5,crap service, forcing us to use the worse than them paypal who are gangs gives nothing and in the long term you will regret even buying or selling from them, use others who are even free like ebid, amazon, payapl can even access your account and then denies as i am taking them to court,

  • This is truly a great video and a SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE. thank you. I plan to take my bank CITIBANK to small claims court soon. Thank you.

  • One last thing:

I feel that the fees for overdrawing an account are higher than they really should be. For instance, let's say you overdraft by $1. Getting charged $30+ for that seems unfair. Banks should issue fees on a sliding scale depending on how much the account was overdrawn.

I recommend people to move their funds to a credit union if they are displeased with their bank. From what I understand, credit unions tend to be a bit more lenient than banks and carry far less problems overall.

  • Whenever I hear people complaining of how mean and terrible banks are, there never seems to be any mention of the customer needing to take responsibility for keeping track of what they are spending. This is not the banks job to do.

If a person is overdrafting on a regular basis, then the problem is clearly not with the bank. Banks should definitely lower their fee costs, but customers also need to take personal responsibility over their funds too. Paper registers are not difficult to maintain.
