i LOVED JENNIFER HUDSON IN THIS MOVIE. i AM SORRY TO SAY BUT WITHOUT HER THIS MOVIE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AS GOOD AS IT WAS. THE SCENES WITHOUT JENNIFER WERE BORING. NO OFFENSE TO ANYONE. SHE DID A GREAT JOB AS EFFIE. I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE MORE OF HER.

@Suzywriter Nawh, This movie's characters are based off of Mary Wilson's book "Dream Girl" which is based on her life, Flo Ballards life, and Diana Ross's life as "The Supremes".

I don't think many people noticed that much of Curtis' character is based on Phil Spector, and that Deena is a combination of Ronnie Spector and Diana Ross. Effie and Lorette have traits of The Ronettes and The Vandellas as well as the Supremes. Deena Jones' mother was DEFINITELY Ronnie Spector's mom!
