  • you should never retire a great song, yes Luke and the banjo are missed but it is a pretty good version, and the more who sing this one will keep Luke and Ronnie alive forever...

  • In general I love Ronnie, but personally I think they should have retired this one with Luke. His absence sticks out like a sore thumb. This is pretty lifeless in comparison

  • "Monto" was written in 1958 by George Desmond Hodnett, the music critic of the Irish Times (some 30 years after the red-light district referred to in the song disappeared).
