With education being a hot topic in the 2008 election and more than half the students in New Orleans attending Charter schools I thought it important to visit one to find out if these new schools might be a solution to our countries inner city educational Crisis.
In 2004 the Annie E Cassie magazine ranked Louisiana 49th in the nation at giving public school children a chance for success. Luckily, due to Hurricane Katrina, New Orleanians have been given a second chance and are using new Charter Legislation to revolutionize the way their kids learn.
I am a PhD student in education. Charter schools are my main area of interest. I have read some info about the fantastic things charter schools are doing in New Orleans post Katrian. This video was interesting.
