Sand dunes are not static. They migrate as wind blows sand up the less-steep windward side and deposits it on the lee (downwind) side. These dunes are northeast of Hanksville in Southern Utah.

  • The video shows how a sand dune moves by wind blowing sand up the windward side and depositing the sand on the steeper lee side. It also shows the angle of repose. (How steep the sand will deposit)
