Join students and faculty for a presentation by Ramesh Srinivasan, assistant professor, in the Department of Information Studies at UCLA. His Topic: Exploring how cultures and new technologies shape one another. Dr. Srinivasan is a fifth year faculty member at the Department of Information Studies and Design|Media Arts at UCLA. He has received a doctorate in design studies from Harvard University, a Master of Science in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT Media Laboratory and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University. His theoretical and applied research builds on this interdisciplinary background as an engineer, designer, social scientist and ethnographer. He conducts global projects focusing on the social and cultural impacts of new media technologies on global cultures and communities; focusing on such domains as development, policy, cultural heritage and social/political movements.
