Nottingham Trams 070819. A rainy day in Nottingham City Centre... one cannot miss the trams passing through - a great sign of life in the city. The action starts in Victoria St, the tram approaching Market Square. The 2nd section is me waiting on Fletcher gate as the tram comes up from the railways station, and another goes down towards the station.

  • wots happening with the other tram line???

  • There are ones planned to the west, to the University and Chilwell, and another to go South to West Bridgford. As usual, there are delays caused by the car owning nimbys who oppose what is the most effective means of public transport - and the cost at this time of economic difficulty.

  • Do the Nottm trams go near Trent Bridge from the railway station ? Please

  • no.. its a real pity.. they only planned the first route to be to the north.. to serve denser areas of population with lower car ownership.. so in that sense, the right decision.

typically, the nimbys on the south of trent bridge have opposed it, but trent bridge is really a bottleneck and the tram would be a great thing, especially for sports events

  • How on earth could anyone find this entertaining?

  • Well, I like machines and transport... so do others. You should see the number of combine harvester videos...

  • @dnicholsoncole If they hadn't torn up nottinghams victoria railway station(under the victoria centre), trams could have gone from Arnold all the way to west bridgeford on that line. If you look at the victoria centre entrance you will see the clock tower from the victoria station with a plaque just inside the entrance.

  • you wouldnt be able to jump under nottingham trams to low would be best to go to sheffield

  • Great Video, 5 Stars!

  • I drive a car myself but believe that the tram is a great thing when ever i'm in blackpool or manchester i like to ride thhe TRAMS

  • Fair enough, I dont want to go to Hucknall either (althogh I know someone who uses it everyday from Hucknall and its fantastically good. Dont oppose it, the sooner it runs to West bridgford-clifton, and to Lenton-QMC-Beeston-Chilwell the better!

  • you know what ive noticed though,. i use them all the time and i work in the city center so im alwasy neaby,... they are noisey!,.. compeared to other trams like in europe or the states i mean,. .not so much the rail noise but the actuall traction motors seem to scream out when they accelerate,... dont think ive heard any other models that are quite as loud,.. or maybe there are just a lot of heavy people going to hucknall lol
