i remember lumidee saying that this song was like her demo..and it was sung acapella ..they put the music on it later for radio play..hence the terrible off key vocals...

@Dutchladystrawberry to answer your question...my theory is that this song came out when most of us were in middle school / high school so it just brings back memories of teen parties etc... annnndddd of course if your friend liked a song chances are you liked it too ....because when you think about there is tons of songs that came out back in the day and you would listen to it now and say," this shit is wack"
