  • very good...i felt it. i love this song and you did a very good job of making it for a man.

  • Having a gay man sing this makes such sense, adds to the poignoincy (sp?). That said, this guy makes you realize how incredibly talented Audra McDonald is. This is a VERY difficult song, and the combination of major note leaps, long phrases without a breath and pitch problems are a little evident, but bang up job and balls for taking it on.

  • his face creeps me out

  • Already, the look on his face is freaking me out. It is the complete opposite of... authentic or soothing.... Thank goodness, he relaxes it. ... something about this doesn't work for me... maybe it's the key... the way he vocalizes it.... .... mmmm.... not liking this.

Yeah, but that's not a fair comparison. An Audra McDonald comes along once in a generation at most, and then only if we're incredibly lucky.

Yes and no. It's one thing to tweak a song to make it more personal (which is what Dilley does here), and it's another thing to change the lyrics of a song because you're afraid of them (as I've seen other groups do when they think they might offend some of the audience). I've sung this version of this song, too, but while I love to hear Audra McDonald sing "Some Days", but there's no way I'd ever sing it myself--singing a song about praying isn't something I'd ever do.

  • Just so brilliantly and poignantly done, Chris.

  • Almost two years after I first heard you sing this, I still love it. It's a beautiful interpretation..

  • pretty but i think Vicky Clark conveys the emotion better

  • this is the best version on youtube.
