so i just wana say that this season had good singer but none moved ppl like Tamyra Gray, Kelly Clarkson, or Justin Gurerini>> they always keep ppl wanting more and gave ppl chills cause of how powerful they sung

I forgot that Kimberly Locke did this song before Katharine McPhee. And now that I hear it... Katharine took many approaches to this song similar to Kimberly. That now makes her performance much more artificial.

I love both verisons from Katharine McPhee and Kimberly Locke. The approach from both is different. Kim only has 1 minute and 19 seconds to impress America. However she performed SOTR twice before the Top 36. When the top 32 came around she sang it for a 3rd time I began to wonder is this all she could sing. Katharine combined 2 verisons of the song. Eva Cassidy's and I believe Judy Garlands. Her approach is gentle and haunting. It takes you to another place. Kat blew her vocal cords top 3 week

@marquise2005 Really, you didn't have to like it for it to stand out. That was my point. I didn't say it was necessarily a great performance.

Wooow!!! Pretty impressive and breathtaking! I kind of liked it more than Katharine's but both are really good!!! One of my favorite performances from her :P

Don't forget Kellie!
-
She certainly does and Judy Garland lived the song every day of her life.

Season 5 was no way near the weakest. I think the weakest season has got to be the last season. Totally blah in every shape and form.
Season 2 of AI. Those were the days. I Love u Kim!!!

I disagree. I think Season 2;s individual performances stand out better than season 6. Besides Melinda's constant amazing performances, what other performance stood out? Jordin's 'I Who Have Nothing'? That's it. Season 6 didn't have a 'Solatiare' or 'I Have Hothing' or 'New York State of Mind' type performance like Season 2 did. Know what I mean?

@marquise2005 umm, hello? what about Blake's "You Give Love a Bad Name?" If that didn't stand out, WTF did?

@KrisAllisonKelly4evr I wasn't much of a Blake fan. To me, he was nothing more than a gimmick. There were some good voices in Season 6...I just don't think many stood out.
