"European metal" is a silly phrase. There are many countries with many distinct metal styles -black metal coming from Norway is very different from Neue Deutsche Härte, and in turn different from the Melodeath scene in Göteborg. There are also cool music coming from America - take Agalloch, for instance. They're not exactly without melody. Good music is good music, regardless of lines on maps.

And we have good metal, too! (I think, maybe we used to? I think there were some good bands from Florida lol)

The US has culture and tradition, too! This country isn't so young that we don't have any folk culture or traditions. We also have indigenous cultures, and I would say that for modern Americans (mose of whom aren't ancestrally American) to draw on indigenous traditions is very similar to how Europeans draw on their old heritage (which might or might not be their ancestral heritage or just their nationality.) I know you're just making a generalization, so whatever, but I hate bad US stereotypes!

O! Heja hej!

Yes, European music has culture to it - American creativity comes mostly from primal instincts, mental illness, hate, senseless violence etc... not that i want to say its bad or anything, i like American metal, but European is much more sophisticated...
