Ahh I got stuck on this fight as a little kid for months. I wrote to Nintendo explaining my predicament. It took awhile, but they wrote me a letter back on official Nintendo stationary with an unreal breakdown of how to win this fight. I love Nintendo. Customer for life.

You can use the Geno Whirl 9999 thing on bosses? Or was that the fake copy which got hit?

It only works on Exor and the Yaridovich clone, since both of them were apparently not labeled as bosses in the game's coding.
