OMG I here like all the time! You can hear wierd sounds in there with no one in it. BTW You can go like a hundred yards in now because they closed it off to protect the bats.

@tallyhokennels i was up there today you cant go all the way back any more so hiked up to the air shaft and looked from the top down into the tunnel. nice video

Now if you really wanna mess with people do this, but you need to have excellent night vision, go in thre w/o a flashlight, and wear sunglasses when you go by people, but take them off when they are gone, wigs them out "Oh my God! He can go in there w/ sunglasses on!?!?" is the usual reaction

We visited this tunnel for the first time 2 weeks ago. My four year old was a little hesitant and kept asking: "Where's the pig mommy?" Not sure where he got the idea a pig was in there! LOL

Did you know Middle Tunnel and Saddle Tunnel is near by too. They was the other two tunnels for the Blue Ridge Railroad line in SC. The trail is marked BRRR near the falls. Middle tunnel is about 0.5 miles and Saddle Tunnel is about 2.5

Take a lantern next time if you want to make it to the end of the tunnel..worth the trip.
