www.expatexpert.com This is the fifth piece in an 18-part on-line global lecture series 'Successful Living Abroad' based on the expatriate family book series by author Robin Pascoe. Each short segment (one hour in total if watched all at once) addresses the themes of global mobility examined in Pascoe's books: challenges for the accompanying expat spouse; raising children abroad; relocating a relationship; and finally, coming home again (repatriation.)
In this segment, Pascoe draws on her book "A Broad Abroad: The Expat Wife's Guide to Successful Living Abroad" to suggest that the word 'career' itself may be unhelpful after relocating abroad where a career path will be neither linear nor easy; and, points out that many spouses re-invent themselves with satisfying and rewarding new passions.
