Personally I own one vintage fox coat which I do wear. I do not wear it as a fashion item as I have no interest in fashion or catwalk culture. I wear it when it's cold, as it has proven to be genuinely warmer than any modern man made fabric coat I own. I pity the beasts who dies to make it, and intend to get as much use from this coat as I am able. When it becomes unwearable as a coat, it will be cut down and remade into something else.

Furthermore- It's is actually those who wear the modern and realistic fake furs who damage the cause of those who campaign gainst the use of real fur. Fashionable fake furs simply scream out by their realism, that fur and skins are seen by the clothing industry as being purely for decoration and disposable fashion. And you see fake fur in VAST amounts all over the world compared to real fur.

I do not support the mdern fur trade myself and do believe it should cease. I do however have absolutely no problem waering and reusing vintage furs. Throwing them away is disrespectful to the animals who died to make them, and purely wasteful of perfectly useable clothing. Real fur is provably warmer than fake ( fake is made from plastic strands on mesh..mesh has holes in it which lets freezing air in ) and will biodegrade where fake will not.

@Tamiyaboy100 - Actually you are completely wrong. They do not skin the animals alive. This does nothing to preserve the fur quality whatsoever.You have been duped by PETA, who are well known and proven as being the people *who actually made* quite a few of the horrific videos they use for shock. Skinning alive takes longer and is much harder than dead as the blood vessels are still full. Draining the body first and then carefully skinning ( not ripping it off) is what is done.

Just for the record, animals dont have to be skinned alive to make a perfect coat or to have a perfect preserved quailty. I've skinned animals that have passed from natural causes to get their pelts, and they turned out perfect.

But anyways, those coats in the video were beautiful, I'm going out today to look at a blue fox jacket. I'm getting my coat used tho, save a couple 1,000 bucks.
