the hammers are normally mounted under the bells, and as the rope is pulled, the hammer is lifted up inside the bell to strike the soundbow . The bell would be in the "rest" positino, ie. mouth downwards.
Again, facinating. Presumably the bells are hit by external hammers rather than the bells having to swing and collide with an internal hammer, am I correct ?
