NMA Bigfoot Harescramble 1991 - Part 1

When my sister, Kim, was a freshman in highschool she took some sort of media communications class where she had an assignment to create a documentary. She chose to document the Bigfoot Harescramble at Walker Valley ORV park as her assignment. I helped her make it a little bit as well. I wrote the narrative while Kim did the narrating.

At the time I was just becoming a top 5 rider in the NMA Harescramble events. I had a notorious reputation for crashing a lot at the time. However, I think I managed to not crash much during this race. My pit stop was less than desirable, and I don't remember much about it. What did bring back memories is seeing my gas tank overfill and splash gas into my goggles. I remember the gas soaked into the foam stung like crazy.

Overall, it is interesting to peek into the lifestyle of the 1991 northwest harescrambler. Mullet haircuts were a sign of the times. I remember thinking how cool it was to see people riding with hair blowing in the breeze out the back of their helmets.

Hey Mike, I was trying to post part 2 of the video all weekend. Something with the VHS editing in about 30 seconds of the overall video is corrupting my electronic files when I do the conversion to MPEG.  When I get it figured out I will post part 2.

I'm in such bad shape right now that I would probably be done for the day after just one loop around walker valley! But I hope to get in better shape to do some riding this summer.
