The Solar Powered theremin can be easily modified so it can be used with effects units and an amp. For more information see:

  • I bought the kit but I want to know how to modify it, inserting the jack.

  • @TheRealTobobias

There's a schematic showing the mod at the bottom of the web page linked in the description. If you need more info email me and I'll try to help you.

  • I think the po po could pull someone over with that thing mounted to their cars. It sounds just like a siren. Pull over the theremin cops are coming.

  • MarbleMad is unavailable to comment as he is currently being held on remand, accused of crimes against music.

  • On second thought, after reading more comments, maybe it was the group "Project Pimento's" rendition of the Star Trek theme at the beginning; their thereminist Robby Virus is excellent and one of the few capable of such good accuracy.

  • Yes as I mentioned earlier this is Project Pimento's version. Robby Virus is a wonder ad compliments Lola Bombay's beautiful voice wonderfully. BTW I in no way intended anyone to think that was the device playing. Did anyone think that? no. thought not. As for the 'toy' accusation. What's wrong with toys :) I would describe it as an inspirational toy. Something a musician can carry around and fool around with in fun and creative ways. It IS a fully functional musical instrument though.
