He won't go for baseball for the win but he'll do it for a block. Yeah. And yep it was all coached. Both men were in the military but only one wore the uniform. Not an accident

I found the airdate, by way of Google's news archives -- April 3, 1958.

Who played the Cowardly Lion in the Wizard of Oz? "I just read that in the Army Times it was Bert Lehr", What the heck is up with that!!! Not much going on in Korea so I decided to go to the page that had Wizard of Oz facts and figures on it in the Army Times.

Bassoon = woodwinds / Tambourine = percussion / English horn (a larger version of an oboe) = woodwinds. [A French horn is in the brass family.]
So the contestant with the eyepatch was right.

The military serviceman actually got one part of the question on Musical instruments wrong, but Mr.Jackson gave him credit for being correct. It obvious that this show was rigged..

You guys have got to see the who wants to be a millionaire in England...where the guy was cheating with another guy in the audience...it's worth watching!!!

@drmorose I confirmed it on the very first pick; the champ avoided the "Pot Luck" category which would have given him the game.
Notice the pauses and the hesitations the soldier keeps making. Contestants were coached in how to act like they hadn't been told the answers in advance. This guy is oozing sincerity. It's funny when you think that during this point in the 50s the most popular shows were either rigged quiz shows or pro-wrestling.

Love the set here, and that trilon effect when the board changes.
