In book she not kill astronaut only try take away his equipment. And when they stop them she simply go away not mistake they as trash like in this game

I've read the books, and of course they are great ;)
as for the movie, the initial development was to big and now the movies has been scraped. Morgen Freemans's film studio was going to make it.
