What do you need besides the computer, the software, and the HF receiver? Is there a terminal node controller or other hardware needed? Or is the soundcard enough.

I have the dx-300 and love it great radios, but the 160 really does have a nice retro feel, thanks for the vid, 73's

I still have my original set from 79, still works perfectly after 30yrs of use. They are incredibly sensitive radios and you can pick up a lot of stations with very basic antennas.

I figured it out. I can use JVCOMM straight into the soundcard. I bought a DX-160 off eBay a couple months ago (already own a DX-150). The 160 had muddauber nests inside big as oranges. I cleaned the rig up, replaced the dial lamps and did a full realignment on it (surprised at how out of spec the circuits were). It's now a hot little receiver with good selectivity even though it is analog. I have the main dial and bandspread calibrated as accurately as possible and very pleased with it.
