Most of the "CET"s have only owned one dog before becoming "trainers" The reason most of the CET are first time dog owners is that they lacked the experience to see through Pattison's BS.

Is experience with one dog and one course enough to make someone a qualified trainer?

  • Cesar Milan kicks the dogs in the back leg, Brad Pattison tugs on the leash. How do they really differ?? Brad rehabilitates dogs and trains people. I like his no-nonsense way of doing things.

  • @formerxphile, they are both idiots but I think Pattison is even worse. Pattison will hit a dog on the face when he doesn't like what it's doing. Pattison will hang and ram dogs into street lamps and trees because he thinks that is being 'alpha' And Pattison lies about non-aversive methods in order to prop up his BS approach.

  • This video is horrific. Way to paint all CET people with one brush. If a person is a good dog trainer they are a good dog trainer who cares where they learned it?

  • @Bittez unfortunately what they learn is to manage the dog through the use of force and violence. Having seen several CETs at work, they all share a the philosophy that violence is an acceptable way to train a dog.

  • That's a complete lie. Read his own website. There are no requirements to be a lousy CET. Worse he is not qualified to certify anything as he has not been educated by any recognized institution.

The power of his 'certification' comes from the fact he is on TV. because he is an ignorant douche in every aspect .

  • I learned today that my new neighbor's have a dog trainer in the family - she was trained by Brad Pattison. "Not a fan, he's psychotic. The man has been caught abusing dogs." fell out of my mouth before I could gather my emotions. I hope they mention it to her and do a simple Youtube search.

  • Any competent person can teach an animal with positive reinforcement theory.

Anyone with an EGO can "teach" like Brad Pattison. That is, teach an animal to be afraid of you.

I can't believe he is supported by a television network. It's disgusting that we, as a society, allow this kind of behavior to continue.

  • @paulfornasier, do you really know nothing about education. The same principles that apply to high performance dogs are applicable to pets. The reason, these are high performers is because they are trained properly and with dedication, this is true in humans and animals.

  • @6LegsToFitness Dude, do you pay attention at all to aht anyone is saying. You talk like this James guy that does alot of anti-Pattison stuff. I'm not talking about training seeing eye dogs or police dogs. I'm talking about training household pets who need to learn to be social and well-behaved. If food works for you, that's cool. It didnt' work for me. If that's not getting into your head, then I don't give a shit. Your head seems pretty resistant to anyone else's truth anyway....

  • @paulfornasier, your experience doesn't mean anything. Here are the facts, food rewards are used (not exclusively) with seeing eye dogs, hearing dogs, and other service dogs for the disabled. It is used in drug, mine and contraband detection. It is used in police and patrol dogs. If you think these are 'tricks' then you need serious help.

Clearly you don't know shit from shinola and it is obvious that you also don't care.

  • @6LegsToFitness NO, this is not a lie I've been brainwashed with. This is my personal experience from having raised my own cats for close to 15 years. You sound paranoid with your quickness to judge someone else, rather than having a discussion where you can both speak your truth. My experience is that food rewards can be used to teach tricks and such, but they are not a great tool for socializing a household pet....in my experience. I don't give a shit what someone says on tv or elsewhere.
