Thanks bernard, So to be on the make... you are starting off with an open D and lowering it 2 half steps, or a whole step to a C? I've seen charts listing open C and it had an odd sound that was not as nice as lowering the open D like I just mentioned? This stuff can get a little foggy when trying to communicate it on a keyboard rather than a conversation. Thanks,
mike

just bought a download from Homespun to learn open tunings thanks to you after listening to your open D composition .thanks for your response.this one SO takes me back to Kottke's "Armadillo Album".
Really looking forward to getting that big dreadnaught resonance out of my D28 herringbone.Shes not aged out like your J45 but I couldn't afford it if it was.thanks for your inspiration.

the rough stinging metal slide sound WORKS and so does the tune as a whole.. i recognize the kottke element but also a bit of fahey.. could you post some lessons on these brilliant open c arrangements? sometimes it's hard to see just what you're playing and there are some odd variations on open c tuning i think. you got the feel man!
