Its only about the drivers and the their respect to fight against each other, BUT NOT touch the other car or kick the other one out!!
in those days the respect was there. And driving was more dangerous than today. The cars today are more save. So drivers tend to just kick the otherone out......

This is the real thing, these were the real F1 pilots, not the "Playstation pilots" that race in the now so called "modern F1".
Too many electronics, these are computers, not F race cars.
That's why no pilot today can't be compared with Senna, Villeneuve , Prost, Jim Clark, J. Stewart, Piquet, graham Hill, etc etc.

I think I saw a pass at Hungary this season, but it probably involved a blue flag.

@samiojo Something like this, but not long like this, it has been repeated so many times in Formula 1 at that time, just watch the duel: Villeneuve vs. Pironi, in Imola in 1982, but many other times, especially when there was involved Gilles Villeneuve but also Arnoux, that was a generation of fearless holding machines with 1200 hp.

I've seen this duel live, I was very young, but every time i watch it again, just one word come back in my mind: U N B E L I E V A B L E !!!.........you have seen how strong were those machines ? But the pilots were dying at that time. Today's Formula 1 seem made of cardboard, today would be unthinkable to a duel like this, but the drivers do not die !
