Ebook for PC / Linux / Mac have been around for ever it's called a "PDF E-book" and PDF ebooks have a voice book reader....

It's much better than the Microsoft Reader in terms of readability and use. Furthermore there is free software out there which will enable you to convert txt files from Project Gutenberg into a format you can read on both the real Kindle and Kindle PC if you put the compiled result into the directory your Kindle program reads. That's a real bonus. There are now devices direct from China that sell at a lot less than £100/$100 dollars which sound just as good,

doesnt come with voice reading huh... i figured that would be the only thing they left out in this software so it can get people to buy the book.

I use the Kindle PC because I have a HP MIni it is cool. I like it, I will get the real Kindle eventually but not right now, the Kindle PC on my HP Mini is working just fine.

I'm trying to download a book called: "python programming for absolute beginners" for pc but it says to register my device i named it but it says to put the serial number where can I find it?????

@CostasBabalis I tried to download the sample to that book, and I'm getting the same thing. It wasn't until I went to the kindle store from my touch that it said that title was for kindle devices only. So it looks like some books in the kindle store are solely for the Kindle itself.
