No Flag for Interference with a Fair Catch?

2010 aTm @ Texas Longhorns. Is this a "Fair Catch" signal? If so, where is the penalty?

The receiver CLEARLY signals for a fair catch with a referee right there, so why didn't he flag the play against Texas a&m?

cant see from that angle but from the other angle on tv he was blocked into him, so it doesnt matter if he called for a fair catch

You got to wave your hand to get the fair catch called. And the guy who hit him was blocked into him anyway

Good no call. First, it was not a legal fair catch signal. Second, it looked as if it was another returner who ran into the receiver, not the kickers. Good job consulting with the field judge as well.

This is a good "no call" by the officials. Merely putting your hand up is not a valid fair catch signal. The hand must be waived from side to side to be a valid signal.
