Jackson, the Golden Retriever, sits patiently outside a busy Target waiting for his owner to return. How he got here is the subject of this WTAJ-TV10 news report. Adopted from an animal shelter less than 4 weeks ago, the 3-year old Retriever has been training every day. He visits local high-traffic locations to practice ignoring distractions while his owner hides just out of sight and keeps an eye on him.

Too bad his head became a public towel.

The best dog I ever had was a golden retriever. They are incredibly intelligent and make you laugh every day.

I have a girlfriend who can do this and she's always getting touched outside Wal-mart. :)

The thing is, this guy saved the dog from a shelter, gave him a very loving home and allows him to go out into the world with him without the dog being put to danger. I am sure the dog loves being petted by many people and enjoys being out of the house, on a trip with daddy.

My 14 year old Golden passed away last week. She always jumps up and down and wags her tail when I come home everyday at the gate. A true hero.
