Fourth part of the Discovery Channel's "Ultimate Strike Planes", a documentary that speaks about the most noticed and diffused war planes. This is about the F16 Fightning Falcon.
@jester26uk Indeed F-16 has only a single engine. It is cheaper to operate and maintain.
The capability is just amazing. very versatile aircraft. If a nation is only concerned about primarily defending their own airspace then it is a good aircraft to have.
I saw a formation of Flankers couple weeks back too, practising for a ceremonial overpass. It was an awesome sight to see too :)
F-16 It's the best thing American built that flies . . . . . . .It's a piece of awesomeness. Beautiful looking, highly versatile and relatively cheap.
Sophisticated ground SAM will probably reduce this beauty effectiveness but most small air forces are concerned primarily with defending their OWN airspace. So it's not a big deal. In that role this one engine awesomeness still has plenty to offer. And it can fly low to avoid sophisticated SAM network if needed. It has a killer look too.
I believe the F16, in my opinion, is still the undisputed in terms of reliability, of all US fighter planes. I think I remember it right that this is also the most cost-effective to maintain?
not so rip yet, remember US allies still uses this awesome piece of a plane. even if the US no longer operate this jets its allies will continue to do so because many of them can't afford the f35.
@peopleplanetprofits SHUT THE FUCK UP! these machines are fascinating pieces of brilliant engineering. these machines protect whole countries and freedom from those who threaten to take it. i bet you couldn't even build a plane better than the wright brothers. so take your shit somewhere else.
@peopleplanetprofits Lol american? no, 10 points for ignorance there buddy, although if you look back into the origons of it, started as milnet used by the US military and from there was developed by americans into the internet. No i ment " our" as in the western world , no.. not even the western world, just people who dont support asshole cave dwelling arcaic dickheads that strap bombs to children and call themselves freedom fighters.
@MichaelWithstand Very handy for the u.s also as it's the same engine the F15 uses.
