Our host Addy Chan hooked up with DJ Qbert for an exclusive interview where they talk about everything from Music production to foot scratching. Check out Q in the club rippin up the decks with his mad skills. Also in this episode Lisa Chinilio managed to link up with the superstar Radio 1 jock Pete Tong. Even though it was Tuesday he managed to pack the house with keen clubbers ready to get on the floor. It was a wicked atmospere and the dancefloor was filled right to the end.

  • dear kids, there is no substitute for real turntables and records. That doesn't mean don't use serato, it means if you're learning, learn on vinyl--you'll learn so much more.

  • @gdwhat i downloaded serato last night and hope to buy the SL box and control vinyl hopefully soon, i'm about to get this mpc 2000 for dirt cheap so this will set me back a little but it's a deal i can't pass up! but i will keep you posted just send me a friend request!

  • @hiphoplivs Try to find it used...thats what I did. I got the software a few months before and tried to get my library ready...then once you DO buy the vinyl and SL box, you're kinda already ready to play around and start making cue points etc... Let me know how it goes...keep me posted. :)

  • @gdwhat Thanks for shedding some light on that! i didn't know that. well i'll prob pick it up sometime in the near future!

  • @hiphoplivs Serato is worth every penny. I got it about 4 months ago. A cracked version wont do anything for you. The software is actually free. But you need the hardware in order for the control vinyl to function. It's the box you need, the control vinyl is relatively easy to obtain... but straight up, you could donwload the software right now if you wanted, it's just kinda useless (other than for organization) until you have the SL box.

  • @gdwhat this is true! and there are a lot of dope break records out, but i guess if you wanted to have your own mix of breaks then get serato or somthing similar to that. one time investment but a life time of enjoyment. I'm considering downloading a cracked ver. of serato and gettin the control vinyl.

  • Nice Ed Hardy Shirt there Pete. uuughhhh. I'll never understand why people wear that garbage.

  • @hiphoplivs yeah man. I was always jealous of the Skartch Piklz for that reason. But, lucky for us, they sell some of it. wooot.

  • @theratdentist hahahahaha. seen.

  • i'm sorry Qbert but we don't have the luxury of being able to make our own scratch records! pressing wax is exspensive! lucky bastard
