A TV Debate on Islam Channel entitled: "Who needs a Caliphate?"

Taji Mustafa, media representative of the Global Islamic party Hizb ut Tahrir (Party of Liberation) (Britain branch) debates the topic with Dr El-Affendi, a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for the Study of Democracy, University of Westminster and co-ordinator of the Centre's Democracy and Islam Programme.

Man that is soooooooo off the mark. The Muslims all around the world are fully aware that Khilafah is the only thing that can save this Ummah and is a necessity, according to our needs and according to the sharia. The ones who don't want to work for it or won't recognise it are the ones who have been consumed by maslahah and greed and money and are the less religious all round ones. Allah (swt) said it will come back, and Nabi (saw) said it will be like the Khulafah rashidun again. So beware.

In conclusion I think Taji could've discussed the problems that democracy creates for societies in releveance to subjects like crime, savings, inheitance, taxes, foriegn policy, elective dictatorship etc. I think he could've also discussed the benefits to society for follwing an Islamic System ruled in a caliphete form. In my opinion, and I might be wrong, but I felt that brother Taji was a weak candidate for this discussion but on the other hand he made some excellent defence and points. Peace

At roughly 41:00 the dr says that Nabi SAW never appointed a ruler niether he left anything definitive as to SAW had implied that Muslims have a choice to be goverened in an Islamic sytem or a non-islamic system. This is such an absurd and non-logical argument. It implies that muslims should elect their leader and that it prevents dynastic or manarchy styled dictatorship where people can't elect their leader. Definetely doesn't imply to adopt a roman senate system

At 35:40 the presenter is justifying what the Dr has said, hes defending him when a presenter should be impartial and let the other party answer for themselves if there are any questions. Its clear that Islam channel is a secular thought based channel

Watch the wordings at 29:50 the presenter comments that the values need to be implemented rather than the system. Meaning just the beliefs eg honesty, sincerety, courage, ethics etc but not the system such as the state's call of Jihad, Ba'iyah, Collection of Zakah as Abu Bakr did, Jizya, Law of punishment, Laws of inheritance, Interest etc. What a clear agenda to please the western thought

The presenter gives his personal oppinion backing the Dr at 25 minutes. The presenter is correcting taji that the laws of governance such as trading laws in Islam has nothing to do with the title ????? Are we not talking about Caliphate that applies Law including trade law?? I hate agenda based biased programmes.

imam ahmed, bukhary, muslim and tirmidhy traveled all their lives to gather the hadith, bukhary refused to take hadith from a man who was trying to fool a goat...and this man who calls us to kofr says that not all hadiths are correct...

This presenter and that other affendi are what you call modernate chocolates, dont know nothing about their deen so they want to suck up the kafir system, islamchannel typically aint islamic they are just by name

my brothers and sisters many of u say that we need a khilafah for the problems of the muslims, for harmony, for the wealth and peace...

my brothers and sisters there is no khilafah and there still isnt peace...so what makes u think that there will be peace when the khilafah will be reestablished and all the world will turn against us? we need to reestablish the khilafah because its an order of allah and we cant practice our deen without it...

and many will die for it....its fard men allah
