Sonic 2 End Level Glitch

This is a glitch I just encountered while playing the game. As Super Sonic, I ran past the end. Then, as I reverted back to Blue Sonic, jumped backwards and it initiated Super Sonic again, freezing...

i did that on the level before the air fortress i got pissed off (and y is tails bouncing?)

I did that too! Annoying as hell. If you did this in Act 2, nothing would happen.
