  • I'm a newbie and this video is the only thing that got my tension right. I've dabbled at scarves and such before but I've never tried to make fitted clothing before now, so my socks were coming out too small, but now I've hit gauge on my pattern! I'm one hook size up but whatever, I hit the gauge! Thank you!

  • Thank you so much! I watched this video and now can hold my work better.

Hello from mikeyssmail helpdesk, as far as your tension goes this is something that comes with practice! same with oyur stitches the more you practice the more even they will get! sometimes projects curl at the start and then tend to straighten out as you go.....so just keep stitching and getting a feel for it and you will see a difference!

    Hope this helps

  • Hello I am a new subscriber and new to crochet and I wanted to ask you for advice on how to control tension so that my work remains in one straight line and does not begin to roll into itself or curve/curl or sometimes even kind of bunches up. I want it to remain in a smooth straight line and would like some advice on how to accomplish that. My foundation row seems to remain straight but then as I crochet it starts to curl/curve/ or look wavy. HELP

  • What kind of yarn is that?

  • @kristinel4christ i can't hold my yarn like that either but I could crochet pretty fast

  • I cant hold my yarn like that its hard I hold it kinda like that but I move my pointer finger
