Answer to guga 1958.
I believe this is because Manjula is Jain. They don't use many root vegetables so as not to disturb the soil and kill any little animals in the soil.

We made this tonight, but subbed the wheat flour in the batter with chickpea flour to make the entire dish Gluten Free. You can see photos on my blog, herloosetights at blogger.com

Dear Manjula aunty, can you please tell me the technique of deep frying the koftas perfectly golden brown? when I do it, they break apart after a minute, even if the oil is hot enough to make the balls golden brown,

aunty got a question..if i cook a dish that has been added half and half cream in it...can i keep the dish refrigerated after cooking and have the dish after two days ... my concern is while warming up after two days due to half and half cream used will the dish spoil?
