Hi SAOMONY. I always recommend coloring hair BEFORE any locking process and then retouch the new growth before your retightenings. This way you won't be overlapping the color and you'll have a more consistent color. If coloring your hair after it is locked you have to squeeze the color into your locks and most "do it yourselfers" are not successful with rinsing all the product out of the core of the locks, causing deterioration of the interior of the lock & severe drying and breakage over time
