Taken out by a big wave on the North Shore of Hawaii

alot of people have no clue how dangerous the tide can be. I was pulled in by a riptide as a kid and luckily there was a good lifeguard. It sucked me under and I had to be resusitated. Don't remember much. I blocked from my mind until my own child wanted to go to the beach. You should always respect the sea and never take the current for granted.

People have been washed off the beach there - permanently. I surfed on the North Shore and it was effing scary. Every week you would hear about someone dying.

@mrjoe1979 Dude I have been on that beach, it doesn't matter that it was only 1 or 2 feet. A wave even half that size can knock you off your feet on the North Shore. Powerful water, RESPECT IT!
