Heh, when my dad was living in a small town in southern thailand in the 80's, he was the first white person a lot of them had ever seen before! He had children running up to him to rub his arms.. because they'd never seen so much hair before!

I didn't felt unsulted, but it was a bit shocking for me. But actually I met quite a lot of old people who acted like him. One even said "Heil Hitler" to me... well that was insulting. But I understand that they may has another opinion on WWII.
Anyway the younger japanese are totally different ^^
