  • We built it two inches wider then the plans called for on a VP-1. I made a slide show and posted it also. The changes that we made are a lot easier to see on it.

  • I take it that's not an ultralight am i right?

  • @JamesSchultz241 , you are correct.

  • Looks like a great airplane.....I may copy some of your ideas...LOL

  • @skyboy1956 Thanks for the compliment ! We made a lot of changes on the plane. Some of them are hard to see in the video but feel free to copy them. The plane also has a canopy that makes it a little faster but our friend who was flying it that day doesn't like being closed in, either do I. You can email us at dandj@ktc.com for some close up pictures of the VP if the like.

  • Sounds like a nice performance improvement with the re-drive engine. Did you fly it a a direct drive? If so, how does it compare with a direct drive VP-1?

  • @skyboy1956 , The plane has had the re-drive on it since day one so we can't compare it to anything, It allows for the larger 3 bladed prop. I don't think it would get off of the ground with a smaller two blade prop. The added weight of a larger fuel tank, starter, two batteries, alternator and the Grove Spring landing gear makes it much heavier then other VP-1's.

  • Hi, neat little airplane, congratulations.

Would one have problems hosting large pilots (6'5") in a VP-1?

  • @papachuck63 Is this by chance a Hummelbird kit?

  • @papachuck63 Okay, thank you! :)
