This is the second part of my joy-ride aboard the MF 6480, when we belted to the pit, I dismounted for the filming, and Mike tipped (Gibson was on the Valtra up on top). That (MF) tractor is around 150hp I believe, maybe someone has the details?

Nothing to do with me. Mike's machine, Galloway in Scotland. Mike offered me a ride and I didn't refuse! but I'm interested in your comment. Are they more expensive with the vt transmission?

  • @balmesh. i dont think that they're that much more expensive than dyna6 transmision but if you could get one on demo i would strongly recomend it to the farm

Well, let's hope that Mike is reading this (or Ben, his son). I know he was quite taken with the 6480.

  • New 6480 with tier 3 engine is 155hp. Older tier 2 models are 145hp. I have video of William lee who operates 3 tier two models, two dynashift and one dyna six. Also has a 6490 which he uses with front and rear mounted mowers.

  • Many thanks. Useful info always welcome.

  • @balmesh.i dont think they're much more expensive but if the farm could get one on demo id say go for it because its so easy once your use to it and it doesnt take much getting use too

  • @balmesh what is it with every one and cvt transimsion! if you new about gearboxs and power transfers you would not bother, yes they are very handy for some jobs because of you can set exact speed but the amount of power they take is unberliavable and yes they are alot more expenceive!

  • the 6480 is 145hp and boosts to around 160 165 hp boost depends on shaft load and engine load

  • Where would I get one of them? I have to film what's on offer, and the 6480 was on offer, not a 7400.
