This is a series of gameplay vids I'm doing highlighting overlooked games for the PS2.

Though this isn't the best game in the Serious Sam series, this is still a very fun arcadey first person shooter. As in other games in the series, the developers love to throw hordes and hordes of baddies your way. Think Duke Nukem, and Doom to the extreme. It's got the oldschool shooter style. Not to big on story, and huge on action. That's what makes the Serious Sam games so fun, and this one is no exception.

Along withthe Single Player, the PS2 version also has an online component. However, no one is ever on it, because it doesn't support a USB headset for communication, but it does however support a USB keyboard. It's online play would be of the oldschool Quake variety. Fast and furious arcade action. It seems like it'd be really fun to play.

Serious Sam: Next Encounter is also available on the Gamecube, but without online play.

For those of you who want to know how many people are playing click this link:

The link tells you exactly how many people are on the game on the North American servers at that exact moment.

  • should I get this game for PS2 or Gamecube?

  • @DukeofOmnitrix Depends on what version is easier for you to find. Someone said the GC version runs better, but do you really want to play a FPS with the GC controller? If you don't mind the controller, then it's not a big deal. Me, personally, I'd just go with the easiest one to get. The PS2 version has online play, but rarely if ever do people play it.

  • Is this game avaliable for pc ?

  • @kimoTHEvampire Not this particular version, no. The rest of the Serious Sam series is though.

  • @teh2Dgamer Hey man .. shall i get this game for my ps2 .. or just having the 1st and 2nd encounter if enough ?/ i mean does this one actually add anything new ??

  • @kimoTHEvampire It doesn't add much new, but if you're a fan of the series, it's definitely worth getting.

  • Serious Sam is a game from my country: Croatia :D

  • @MugatuSazze Are you talking the single player mode, or the multiplayer mode? There's noting quite like it that fits very well. For multiplayer mayhem, there's Quake III, and Unreal Torunament. The Timesplitters series about as close a fit for the arcadey single player mode, but that's about all I can think of off the top of my head.
