http://musclemonsters.com/massinaflash Here is a simple formula you can use to calculate how many grams of carbs and protein you need following your workout.

Body weight (x) .25 = grams of protein

Body weight (x) .3 = grams of carbs

  • Oatmeal has a higher GI than a snickers bar

  • @JVM113 Plain Oatmeal has 0-1 gram of sugar...a snickers has close to 30 grams. I am not sure where you get that logic but you are completely incorrect.

  • Also I've read from numerous places, that rolled oats (i guess that's the oats you use) have a GI which is actually higher than raspberries for example (from pretty reliable sources), with bananas just edging a bit higher. I don't mean to call you out, you've done some good videos, but isn't a high GI the main point you're making with including simple sugars in your shake? I read water melon has a high GI but this isn't as practical as other fruits.

  • @richymorganrp Raw oats (like the ones I used in this video) are low in the GI actually. Not sure who would say raw oats are higher in the GI than fruits but that is completely incorrect. Typically I will use bananas over raspberries but it's what I had available at the time of filming. Havent tried the watermelon but it should work just as well.

  • Hey, I tried this and its GREAT, it really helped me to feel energized after the workout. I only have one question: do I have to drink it during my resting days?

Thanks a lot Alain, You're the man.

  • @joseluisdehipona It wouldn't hurt to have it on your rest days. That is the time your body is recovering so it would do you some good.

  • @tallman145 215 lbs would be 64.5 grams of carbs.

  • Would have been a good idea to mention that its bodyweight in pounds. I calculated with my bodyweight in kg until I read a few comments. Otherwise, great video.

  • @musclemonsters at what time of the day do you usually eat this and can i use other types of protein powder such as mass gainer? And how long does it take to see the effect?

  • what you think about this product. NEW PRO FORCE T40Xtreme MASS FACTOR TURKESTERONE CREATINE EXTREME BODYBUILDING tell me if is good to take it??

  • @musclemonsters raw oats, like oat groats? sorry they just looked like rolled oats. Many fruits have a lower GI than rolled oats. What's the main thing you look for on the label when buying oats then? can't seem to find anything that says "raw oats" or groat oats particularly.

  • I weigh 155 pounds. Therefore i need 46.5g of carbs. What percentage of that should be oats and the rest fruit?

  • @musclemonsters hey bro how tall are you?

  • You may consider adding organic raw eggs, 2 or 3 to the mix - these are a slower release protein. Then the Whey can hit your system fast, while the eggs release over the next few hours.
