  • My dear friend and old neighbour from Drimnagh, Dublin playing with the care and sincerity that also describes the man himself.

    James Keane.

I do like Sean Potts' playing. I keep trying to play in a similar way, but it's very complicated, much more than playing fast.

Also, the peace of his playing is awsome, and I think that this is the real target of all whistle players (my target, at least).

  • Brings me tears every time.

  • the man is a genius. he started teaching me back in 1989 for years. just found some of his old tape recordings from then. pure brilliant

  • I've only recently discovered this music. Breathtaking.

  • Up the Dubs! Lovely playing...

  • Beautiful and enchanting

  • To play this well it also requires an understanding of the tradition as he expresses his inner thoughts regarding this beautiful air. Sean is also descended from a long line of pipers, originally from Co. Wexford, that brought their music to Dublin generations ago. The great Dublin fiddle player Tommy Potts was his uncle and Sean Og Potts , Sean's son is a brilliant well known piper.

  • @fla1990

The air is Geaftaí Bhaile Buí, the reels are Mhic Eoin's and Tommy Whelan's (Humours of Lough Rea)
