If you've ever riden this hill over the past few years you'll know what a cracking fast descent it was. I now wouldn't bother riding it at all after the very biker friendly people at the forestry commission decided to dig it up and put a new nice smooth surface down probably so those very friendly happy go lucky walkers won't break an ancle while out walking ...... or unfortunately their necks. If there is a logical reason for this happening I'm still blaming the walkers. Fellow Peak District riders watch and weep and treasure those memories.

Chapelgate has also had the goddam health n safety treatment now too! Its pathetic! My mum could happily ride down it now! :-(

cycled up it on sunday and it has been completely smoothed out with a hard surface ok for riding up. lost a good decent here.
