Charlie works at a Texas stockyard to support herself and her two young brothers working cattle and breaking horses, but her lot changes when she meets a spirited, unbroken horse she names Sylvester Stallone. When she loses her job, she enlists her former boss, an ex-cavalryman to help her train Sylvester for three-day eventing with the intent to sell him for a lucrative profit. Although she knows little about dressage and show-jumping, the pair work hard and head off for an east coast competition.
