Sony NWZ-X1051 Walkman - TFOT

At this years CES Sony demonstrated its X-series walkman. This new music and video player has a touch based OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode), WIFI, FM tuner, and noise cancelation built into the headphones; it will be released by Sony in the summer of 2009 in two versions 16GB and 32GB. The 16GB will cost $299 and the 3GB will cost $399.

I bought it. The expensive 32 GB version. You can't compare this to an ipod touch. This is a dedicated music and video player. There are very limited features. You don't even have a calculator. But I've never heard better sound quality in my life. The ear phones are very, very good. Just throw apple ear phones away. And the display is the brightest and colourful I've ever seen, even computer TFTs aren't as good as that one. It's your choice: Play with Ipod or listen to music with Walkman.

what's the difference between 1050 and 1051?i have a 1060 but i also saw an 1061.is there a technical difference or it's just that the xxx1 is sold in usa.

i hope the 16gb is $200. i like sony walkman but i will not pay $300 for a 16gb mp3 player thats a little to much. unless they prove its worth it and all the features work better then a ipod touch

it may come in april but there has been no confirmed date sony was saying april late last year but now when the press asked for a confirmed date sony has been saying it may not come till the summer, but my guess is problaby late april or early may, their just saying summer so thay wont be harrased for the next few months
