I recorded this on a whim to show a drummer/friend of mine. Turned out reasonably well so I thought I'd throw it on here.

  • great tip dude, it seems after all this time i still cannot get down the alternate picking, or economy. i dont fucking get it i sit there and try it but doesnt ever seem to click, as u can see in my version of trilogy suite, alot is pull of with random picked notes. it sucks

  • What helped me a lot with economy picking were the little 2 string arpeggio sequences Yngwie uses. Such as the ones in Trilogy Suite here> down, down, up, down, down, up... Or the first part of the Rising Force solo, you can start the initial pulloff with a down or up but then the natural flow of it will up, down, down, up, down, down... Just a few licks that helped me out.

  • fuck nice chops man how long did it take u to develop into that style till u were able to record it?

  • I'm not sure of an exact time frame, but its hours and hours worth of practise, and then some more practise.I guess you need to be motivated and passionate enough to dedicate the time and patience to to it. I work on many different techniques as they all improve others in one way or another. Never sacrifice playing clean to play a little faster.

  • 1) Great job. Really nice fret work :)

    2) TABS??? FFS people, use your ears and imaginations.

    Learn some scales. Practice. Feel.

And once again, great job on this recording :)

  • Really great technique and sounds. I am jealous.
