how heartbreaking for the rest of his family to have this soooo accessable to watch everyday of their lives, how on earth can anyone grieve for him if they can see his death whenever they look at this its a heartbreaking story but i would be devastated if i had to watch a member of my family on youtube

@popcornnugget First of all, no one HAS to watch this documentary. Secondly, he and his family agreed to this.. it was his wish to help people and this documentary has helped sooooo many people.

I'm an alcoholic, and let my drinking get out of control because I didn't understand how hard it was to stop once you got past a certain level. I tried to quit on my own but couldn't. The withdrawal symptoms were just too scary.

But when my family confronted me about my drinking, I got help, went into treatment briefly, and quit.

I just don't understand how somebody could keep drinking for years even after their health started failing and their family begged them How does their mind work?

@zzworldontheweb I was able to stop while I was young on my own. You said it yourself you couldn't quit on your own and didn't understand how hard it was. Some people aren't ever able to stop, even after interventions and as much help as one can get. I know that if I drank again, it's possible that I might never be able to stop again.. that fear keeps me sober. I think some people would need a forced physical/psychological intervention to be able to realize what they are doing to themselves

Of course this is very powerful. I feel like I am looking into my future and the suffering my wife and son will experience. Very good reason to get sober now.

@popcornnugget This documentary has undoubtedly saved lives. As a recovering alcoholic seeing this film made me realise how serious a problem I had. This man, his family... such a loving and genuine people, I'm sure they take some sort of happiness from knowing that having their own personal tragedy committed to film and Youtube could prevent such tragedies happening to other families.

It's so hard to understand. You just land there for no reason you can follow.And keep on going, for no reason you can follow as the friends and the jobs and all that mattered to you fall away. You can stop, but you have to have something to stop for and something to fill that gap, that alcohol provides

its great that it has helped so many people, i just think its heartbreaking, i didn't realise that ALL his family had agreed to it. I have been in that position with my husband in icu. A very close friend of mine had given me the link to watch it, and now i completely understand her grief and although it is done so much good on one hand it concerns me how badly it affects his children and grandchildren when they miss him only being able to watch the sad bits.
